These are from finnish Wake tour of summer 2001.
I take a.500pic, and have an extremely difficult
be on right moment with shot.
Need all zoom, because You are not in a boat,
so the distance is quite a lot, having subject size
good in a bicture.

I have looked over these photos on several occasions. They are fine, but limited by your onshore shooting location.

As a windsurfer, I run into similar limitations all the time. I use my SLR and shoot with an 200 F4 lens from shore. But that is almost useless unless my companions sail by close to shore. At Cape Hatteras, the "school pros" get onto decks set 100 yards offshore and then they shoot as their targets jibe within camera range. Elsewhere, shots of the America Cup races are made from fast moving powerboats.

So ... it seems to me that you have to get closer to these guys and maybe even use a shorter lens -- then crop!
