I've had my camera for about a year and a half now, only using the remote control about 5 times. Now it won't work, so I think I need a new battery. Does this dead battery sound premature? Where can I get a replacement?

All batteries are based on a chemical reaction to create electricity, and when those chemicals are used up, the battery dies. The reaction takes place whether the battery is used or not, just at a slower rate.

Assuming that the battery is the culprit, the good news is that they are cheap to replace and easy to find. The CR 2025 battery can be found in many stores that carry batteries, including drugstores, supermarkets, & of course camera stores.

Good luck

Did you ever resolve this issue? I think I have the same problem.

Yea, dicky109 had it right. It discharges even though you don't use it, if you have the battery installed. I went ahead and bought another battery at a local drug store for like $3. I don't use the remote too often, so I leave the battery out, til I need to use it.

Whoa! Didn't notice you asked this about 2 months ago. I just got my email notification today that someone replied. Something screwy with the board software?
