Hi,
I'm shooting quite a lot of portraits, and am looking into getting some sort of backdrop. The ability to have some sort of portable frame for it as well, would be great. The cheaper the better though - anyone got any good cheap sources for backdrop material in the UK?

I know I can just get a plain bedsheet, and clone out creases (when space is tight), but was thinking that if I can get a dirt cheap backdrop material, then the creases won't be as noticeable - especially if there's one in an awkward place to clone out.

Thanks!

This is not a particularly cheap option, but may be versatile.

How about a Lastolite reflector. They come in varying sizes - I have some at 38" which may be fine for a headshot. Usually they are white and another colour (silver and gold for example), so are helpful in shooting portraits anyhow.

I know they do a 5x6' one too, but they are getting more expensive.

The good thing is they fold down and are easily portable and quick to erect.

If you keep your eyes peeled on Ebay, they come up now and again. In fact that is where I bought my second and it's as new). You are looking around £25 for the 38" ones.

Hopefully you will get more suggestions.

Thanks for the suggestion Graham - I may get a small reflector anyway, but a backdrop would be good, so I can use it for full length portraits of my kids.
