The latest PC Magazine (with the broadband story on the cover) had a little side bar on page 30 about high speed compact flash from Lexar and SanDisk. They specifically mention the D30 and state that the new memory will shave 8-10 seconds from the 25-35 seconds that it typically takes to save a picture. They also state that using a Firewire CD reader they got a greater throughput than with regular memory.
The bad part is that a 512MB Ultra CompactFlash card from Lexar is around $500 which is about $100 more than regular memory.
