Where would this be from? Its not the lens because it's there with any lens. i've cleaned the back of the viewfinder. However it does not show up on any pictures that I take. I used MS Paint to show you the relative size and location the spots. (There are actually 2 spots.) looks like dirt or something. How do I get this out and where do you think it is at? If this were on the sensor it should should up on pics as big as it is I would imagine.

I also would like to know this as I actually have the similar problem. The spot I have doesn't appear to be as defined as yours but I also would like to get rid of it... Making matter worse, I believe it was there when I bought the camera.... My suspecion is it could be on the mirror but I could be wrong.

it's probably just blemishes on the focus screen. You can take it somewhere to be cleaned off if you want to, but if it doesn't show up on your photos, I wouldn't worry about it.

yeah it's just kind of annoying as it's not a tiny spec. I assume actually blowing onto the focusing screen is not recommended.

It's dust on the ground glass. You could try to get it off using a blower.

The spittle that comes from blowing on it will be even worse. Use a rocket blower or learn to live with it. It's just a bit of crud or dust on the focus screen.

I had a spot in the exact same location as the one on the right in your pic. Once I got my rocket blower I put it in sensor cleaning mode and blew the heck out of it and it went away.

Your dust must have been on the sensor not the focus screen. When you put the camera in sensor cleaning mode the mirror flips up and covers the focus screen.
With the dust specs showing in the viewfinder, the dust is not on the sensor so remove the lens and try to keep the opening pointing down, carefully point the nozzle towards the focus screen and squeeze the blower a couple of times. Look through the viewfinder to check (no need to fit the lens) and repeat as necessary. Try to avoid catching the mirror. It is fragile but not not overly fragile and it is aways better to be safe than sorry.

Heh actually I did both so I don't really know WHERE it was, just that it's gone now :)

Dust seen with come clarity in the viewfinder is ON the focus screen. You can SEE no other dust location in the viewfinder's optical path as well defined, even if it is on the reflex mirror. The dust could be either on the focusing screen's textured (focusing) surface or it might be dust on the other surface. Dust which is in the viewfinder's optical path will not affect the final photo.
You CANNOT see dust on a sensor in the viewfinder, you will see in only on the final photo. Only dust on the sensor needs to be cleaned; dust elsewhere is generally a nuisance (unless is somehow moves to on the sensor!)
