Well, for starters you need the FASTEST lens you can get. f2.8 and smaller. A telephoto is great for obvious reasons. Shoot in RAW. Shoot at the fastest ISO that still gives relatively low noise.
If you need to jack up the ISO to get solid shots, then use a noise killer like "Noise Ninja" (it's a PS plugin).
That is all i can think to suggest.
