Something that I have been working on for a while, I have now gotten down to pat.

This is a free standing unit i have built to capture very shy; smaller mammals, Reptiles and birds in a natural setting:

I have used it successfully for photographing Chinchillas (bunny-rats) for a client, but am hoping to launch this in a tree in a local forest overnight with maybe some tempting help on the main branch.

What are your thoughts?

(1) - the infa-red transmitter from the LC2
(2) - The reciever from the LC2 attached to an N3 toR3 adapter to the camera's remote release socket
(3) - manfrotto clamp attached to a ball head holding everything together
(4) - Quantum battery back to power the Flash all night long
(5) - 550EX speedlight with a diffuser for softer light
(6) - The glorious 50mm 1.4 prefocused onto spot X left in manual mode
X - The prefocused spot which has some tempting goodies rubbed into the wood (rasins) the wood is actually very charismatic, and gorgeous.

So what do you think?

In the wild (to quote Val Kilmer from "Ghost and the Darkness") "In point of fact, no it has not worked but I am convinced the theory is sound..."

Will update with pictoral results when I get to leave over £2000 worth of gear in the bushes overnight!

Cheers G

My thoughts are you're gonna need a few strong men when you go out into the jungle sahib. :D

I'm sure you have already thought of this, but remember to use your eyepiece cover. Good luck, and share those results!
