You can see my thought's about it and how it compares to the G3 HERE (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=19216).

Deckyon, if you read this, you'll be pleased to know that the 300D works quite well on a telescope with a T-adapter. I haven't been able to play with the scope much, but the terrestrial images are much sharper than with the MaxView and the G3. The 300D will even meter. I'm waiting for a larger moon and some clear skys.

Good comparison Dave thanks :)

I am hoping to move up to a DSLR (canon) one day, I am looking at the different lenses, have you found a website that explains canon's lens range? - L range USM not sure what its about.

My last SLR was an AE1 so bit out of touch.

Canon's website has each and every current lens and has descriptions of the various technologies.
The L range is very good and expensive. USM is ultrasonic motor.

The results does improve but it's still not so great..

There are sets of profiles for some cameras (including a very good set for the G3) here:

http://www.neatimage.com/profiles.html

it can save you a lot of time, because then all you really need to do is load the profile from your hard drive, based on your pic's ISO and format (JPG or RAW), then start the crunching. Unzip them and drop them in your neatimage/profiles/ folder, and you're ready to roll.

Don't forget the Fred Miranda Photoshop actions... better
than neatimage IMO.

I just purchased my Rebel last Friday - tons of research and excellent product reviews made it an easy buy - now I'm on the lens/flash hunt.
