Nice - I especially like the first one. Fantabulous reflection control. I am quite impressed.
Mind talking to me about the lightcube with a black background?

thanks! and sure, whatcha want to know? I use my alien bees B800 fired up into an umbrella positioned above the cube. The cube came with a black drape that velcros in. The modeling lamp gives a good idea of where the reflections will be, and then a quick review of the histogram lets you know you've got it right. Then, I use a levels adjustment layer to bring the background to total black and get the midtones where I want them.

MG... awesome shots. Dug this post up doing a search for "lightcube"... is this the same one sold at Amvona.com? If so, what size is it (medium, large)?
I wouldn't mind seeing some more shots from it if you've got em ;)
Those are some mean looking (yet somehow sexy) kitchen utensils.
