Spent the day yesterday at Croft circuit, took over 1300 pictures knowing that I'd be lucky to get half a dozen that were any good. I was right :)

I like the first few, as the sun is high in the sky. The last few the sun is behind the car, so the camera facing side of the vehicle is in the shadow.

I think you did an nice job on these. I think the crops are a little tight on a couple of them but nice motion.

If this really is your first attempt, congrates!
Just ensure you show a mix of angles
Great start!

Get yourself over to the back straight from the Chicane up to the Infield crossing point next time you visit. You'll be a little lower down and have a more direct view of the cars. It's not an ideal angle but since they put the new fence in from Sunny Out down to the complex it's about as good as it gets for side-on pans. They really have ruined what was a nice spot for us mere peasants :(

The other option is between Sunny In & Out over where the rubbish skips are and from memory your 70-200 should be just about right for there :)

This is what USED to be possible along there, before the fence went up..

Hehe thanks for the advice and compliments guys. Yes it really was my first attempt at Motorsport. I took over 1300 shots that day for these few "keepers".

It's not easy when you have three kids and your father with you :)

That's really good for your first attempt.
I agree with Samiad, the shot of the grey racing Clio looks quite dim.

Good job on the first attempt. Did you have credentials to get close to the action?

Thanks for all the positive feedback folks :)

GSH Never realised until now that you're in the same town as me!

Whereabouts in Hartlepool do you live? I'm up on Clavering. We may have even met if you've been unlucky enough to require a visit to A&E in the last 4 years lol

I never noticed that myself. Another 'hanger on the forum eh?

I'm up past Brierton School near the fields. Next time you go to Croft drop me a PM. I'm there for most of the meets along with several others on here.

Ahh nothing like a private joke to confuse people ;)

I used to live near there, my parents still do. Just past "The Pink" on Catcote Road, small world :)

TBH Not sure when I'll be going to Croft again, probably next year for the BTCC again.

I got it! :) Though I suppose globally speaking, I'm just up the road at Burnopfield. I thought that subject was taboo?

Hehe, as I'm not native Hartlepool it doesn't really bother me. Can't say I've noticed it bother anyone from here tbh.

I was once told that it was actually Stockton-on-Tees that did the hanging not us, apparently we marched it there because we couldn't decide what to do with it lol
