Hello All,

I have just purchased a 10D and am now outfitting with as assortment of lenses. I plan to do general photography in many areas but specifically in the area of nightime sports photography. More specifically I would like to cover highschool scoccer and football. My problem is that I don't know what type of lense would be best for covering the in-play action. I currently have the 16-35 f2.8L. I have considered getting a 70-200 f2.8L IS and also a 1.4x. This way I would have effectively a 105-300. Basically I have two questions.
(1) I 300mm max enough zoom for doing the close-up action of the events I have described?
(2) Will the 1.4x change my f setting to significantly affect my nighttime (lowlight) capabilities?

Thanks to all for you input! Signed: A wanna be photography

Might want to check out the 'biggy' camera forum for the EOS guys. They may have more info, although I'm sure some stop by here now and again.
