I just had my 1 1/2 year (just outside the warranty) old G2 reparied by Wolf Camera. The zoom was getting "stuck". One little tap to try and get it to zoom in and it would zoom all the way in, and you could hear the motor continuing to try and zoom in more.
I have seen mention of this problem on other forums, and it seemed to involve a worn out srping or some such thing.
Details of the service to fix this were:
"Repair lens assembly, adjust to manufacturer specifications, check and clean to good working order"
Total bill $245! Nearly half the cost of the original camera!
Was I taken for a ride?
