B & H Photo, Most reviews are very positive. I used them recently and would use them again. Their price for Shing-Ray filters was the same as the mfg. web site. I also needed some other things and the shippping was less than Shing-Ray wanted.

Henrys is a small overpriced consumerish chain of stores.
Vistek is much better, but justifiably has a "we're too good for you" attitude towards me.

I agree wholeheartedly. I never ever go to Henry's site or storefronts anymore. And Vistek....you are bang on that one, even their Calgary store.
I personally do just about all my shopping at Camera Canada (http://www.cameracanada.com) . If you don't find it displayed, try their search function, it is pretty good. If they don't have it in stock, call them and they can tell you how long it will take. There customer service is excellent.

I order a lot of things from The Camera Store in Calgary. Shipping is $10, anywhere in Canada.

Henry's and Vistek's prices are almost identical. I've had awesome results with Henry's both internet and over the phone. Everyone has been firendly, and gone out of their way when needed. For example, over nighting my 1D MKII because I had sold my 20D and had a wedding to shoot two days later... they didn't even charge me for the express shipping. But yeah Henry's is cool!

Vistek is located on Queen St., though it's about 20 minutes further east (walking). My understanding is that they used to have a store closer to Church, but now they are located out past Parliament.
As for the filters, I generally order from The Filter Connection (http://www.2filter.com/index.htm). I have yet to pay duty on their shipments, which arrive promptly in bubble wrap mailers. In my opinion, their pricing and service is great.

Like come on $150 for a battery? Pfft rip off central
Also London Drugs sells filters, they too are very expensive. I buy my filters from B&H or eBay. And I ONLY stick to names I have heard of on eBay because there is way too much "Made in China" dollar store quality junk being sold by guys claiming to be in Canada but shipping from HK.

I can't stand Henry's. Way overpriced and extremely poor customer service. I can never reach the photography department by phone.

Same here!
On the other hand, I’ve never had problems with Vistek.
They were always friendly and willing to help.

Another place to try is Simon's Camera in Montreal, they usually have good stock and have been helpful in the past.
