Here's a couple of shots of the Madison Scouts from last night. Sun was directly in my face plus it was 95 degrees!

Not bad, I used to be in a marching band and our uniforms were wool, marching in parades in the summer were not fun.

Was this at a HS football game? I live in Battle Creek, so I am just wondering where you were.

DCI is Drum Corp Int'l

This was probably at finals.................Sat night.

I think the scouts are one of the last all male corps around........

The used to be mostly "green"

But hey, I marched way back in 87'

Here's one I took from the 13th place corps at Semifinals in Madison, WI. this year. Between being a little cramped and being very limited as to what I could bring in, I wish it turned out a little better.

If anyone out there has never seen this (in the U.S.), ESPN2 is showing highlights from this year's championships tomorrow (Tuesday, Sept. 5th) from 8pm-10pm, eastern time.

Don't think of this as just "any" marching band competition (anyone that really knows this activity will kill you if you call it marching band, it's drum corps - a totally different level). The ages of the "kids" you'll see out on that field range from 15-21 years-old.
