G2 cracks - Canon's policy?

Can anyone tell me what Canon Europe's policy is regarding the cracks that many people have found in their G2 bodies?

After reading about the problem I looked at my camera, and found the case had cracked AND a small hole has appeared :(

The camera is out of warrenty, and I couldn't get much sense out of Canon support - they told me to take the camera to a repair centre, but weren't clear about charges. Anyone had their camera fixed ouside warranty??

My experience with previous cameras out of warranty is that it will not be worth your money to get it fixed, since the crack will mean a body piece replacement. You can get a new G2 (in black) for $380 here:
