Shot all day long yesterday at Pukekohe, South of Auckland where it was the 3rd round of 6 for the D1NZ competition.
Met up with Lenzflair who is a newly registered member here, but a top professional motorsport photographer. "forsaken" aka Simon was there of course.
Full gallery of shots is here: www.warrenwilliams.co.nz/d1/

Thanks everyone..
Good to meet up with you Ron, and share your valuable insight to motorsport photography. Was a good day to spend alongside Simon and also Louise's good mate, with the 300D. I wonder how his shots will turn out, with my 70-300 lens. A shame Kirst wasn't able to come along.. She did great to have a guy request a shot of his car, and then sell it to him. :)

Great series warren, I really like the last one with the people walking off- its like a still from the end of a film :)

Love the series, the drifting in NZ is so much better than it is here in the OZ! :(

I'll pass that on to the boys :) I'm sure they'd love to hear that.
Would be good to get some of your Aussie drifters over here for the occasional event, like JT and Johhny do over there.

Thanks Adam. Always looking for different shots like that, to show the end of a hard day.
Andrew: What's wrong with the drifting in Australia?
Dion should be doing a good job in getting it better.
Thanks aebasuplook... There's a lot of fun in taking drifting photos. Beats the stress of wedding photography. Just doesn't pay the same.

Thats funny. Without even knowing it both wazza and I took pretty much the same shot at different times.http://pic10.picturetrail.com/VOL348/944371/11607738/169500104.jpg
I prefer Wazzas composition though

What does it take to get to photograph the drifting at pukekohe. Do you have to attend for a magazine or can you just turn up and get a photography pass? I would be interested to come along for fun.
