Partly because I realised I had only made 29 new threads in 9 months and alsmot 1 and a half thousand posts, and partly because I want to share some stuff. Anyway. This was at my school rock night, so its mostly younger edinburgh bands. I got a few with the whole flash and long shutter speed thing, and quite a few other good ones, but I thought I'd just put a few up :)

I guess it would be worth noting that these were all taken with a Nikon 50mm f/1.8, so they where all manually focussed, at 1.8 and ISO 1600

Too bad the mic was in the way that would have been a great photo. The others are good as well.

mics will get in the way a lot. I wish my school had this type of fun duo. My friend has been playing guitar for 12 years, he just turned 17, he's into blues and rock like me Though theirs a lot of guitarist in my school, just people in student council rather have a "Lip sink" deal instead of true talent. go firgure.

I think most of the schools in my area do "Top of the pops" and lip synch, so we are quite unique doing this....

I haven't photographed many gigs. I was lucky to be allowed to get access right in front of the stage (in a cordoned off area) by sweet-talking the teachers. Looking at some of the photos they took (not bad cameras, but not very good :o) they all ended up with either blurred people, or ridiculous washed out colours from the high ISO on a small CCD...

Thanks guys
