Congratulations!
Well I just took a quick look around and couldn't find any on line vendors I trust that have it in stock :(
No B&H no Ritz... not even Best Buy, Dell, or Gateway.. (didn't realize Canon had yet another 10D shortage!)
But here is a helpfull link,. just be wary,. some of thee vendors are no trust worthy and ohters will say its in stock when they are in fact NOT

I just got mine thursday after a 2.5 week wait on the order... Don't wait for them to come into stock. Get on the pre-order list.

Try Fryes electronics or www.outpost.com.

Try Samys Camera. They are in California and usually have a decent stock of Canon equipment.

Or, I've also delt with Kurts Carmera Corral out of New Mexico. They are a small place (sometimes they have better stock because fewer people know they do mail order), but have very friendly service and will ship or FedEx anywhere at resonible rates.

I got my 10D at Best Buy near LA on September 12. (they actually had 2 under the counter and one in the display)
By September 16 I was pretty sure I had a problem with focusing :~( (now don't start yelling already) Even L glass didn't help. Am I that unlucky to get a bad body 1/10000 chance (or whatever the odds are that people have posted here) ?
Anyway, my point is, I've been waiting ever since for BB to come through with a promised replacement body. They just can't get it (or at least so they say) I was just there today and noticed they'd pulled the display copy. Made me think they were telling the truth that they just cant get them, and not just giving me the run around. But he said they actually sold the display model.
If everyone is out of the 10D, it makes me wonder if canon is coming out with a replacement model soon ??? (just guessing here, don't get excited) Or maybe, just maybe they're working on this damn AF problem.
Anyway I think I am going to return mine soon and get my money back. Wait and hope for a better camera. And just put my three 512 CF cards, 24-70f2.8L, 70-200F2.8L and 420EX flash on the shelf for decoration.
I hate my 10D I love my 10D I hate my 10D I love my 10D I hate my 10D I love my 10D I hate my 10D I love my 10D I hate my 10D I love my 10D I hate my 10D I love my 10D I hate my 10D I love my 10D.

Congratulations Holly!!
That's great news :).
I'll jump on the BestBuy bandwagon along with the rest of these nuts. I bought mine at a B&M BB when everyone else was out. BestBuy online website said none were available but calling around to local shops found two local stores with inventory.
It's a bit higher than online retail and you pay tax as well but the four year extended warranty service is only $99.00 whereas warranties by other vendors typically run into the $250+ range. BB sends the camera's out for service just like everyone else and they have a better replacement policy than most others. Anyway, that's MHO.
Congrats again on Grandmotherhood!
Very exciting :).

...but the four year extended warranty service is only $99.00 .....!
what good is the extended warranty if they can't replace the camera because it's "unavailable"? Since BB "doesn't have any and can't get any" I can't take it to the store and get a replacement. If I want to keep mine, I'd be sending it directly to Irvine anyway, bypassing BB altogether.
so...they can stick their extended warranty...3 or 4 years from now the 10D will be out moded by who knows what, so prompt service or replacement by BB at that time will be meaningless.
(sorry about the rant, but as I said IloveMy10D IhateMy10D IloveMy10D IhateMy10D IloveMy10D IhateMy10D IloveMy10D IhateMy10D IloveMy10D IhateMy10D IloveMy10D IhateMy10D ..... :~(

Ahhh,.. but you missed one fo the best aspects of the Best Buy extended warranty.
Guaranrteed repair, or replacement with equipment of equal value......
It was this "what if they don't MAKE the 10D anymore" that got me to spring for the extra $50.00 ofr Best Buys warranty....
If the 10D is no longert availble and my warranty is still good and "IF" they can't repair it,. then I will be getting whatever new Canon DSLR that is out in the $1,500.00 price range :)

Holly, Congrats on the tiny arrival. :D
Babies are a joy to photograph. I know this because I got 3 of them :D
I agree with other posters that if you need one right way then your best bet would be your local Frys or BestBuy B&M stores. I would also pay for the extra waranty for the exact reason that CDS mentioned above.
Walmart also carries it but only online for now and they do show that the 10D is currently available here:

Good luck,

My wife and I are still trying to decide whether or not to have children; we've only been married 42 years, and don't want to rush headlong into these things.
Grandkids are a bit further off.
