It is a Dell 20.1 widescreen. Alright, yesterday it was working just fine. Today, start it all up....black screen, nothing, nada. So, I unhooked the DVI-D cable and tried the everyday analog cable (D-SUB). That works, but the resolution is messed up, because it says that D-SUB doesn't support a high enough resolution. So at least I can use my computer, but I'm not going to attempt any PS work. My thought is that it isn't the monitor, rather the cable or video card. Any suggestion on what's up?

nevermind, a moderator a the dell forums helped me out. told me to

Reconnect the DSUB. Boot into safemode. Change the resolution to 1024x768. Shut down. Reconnect to DVI. Power on. What happens?

All fixed, but I wonder why I had to do that. I wonder what happened.

You must have had it set at too high a resolution when you switched to analog. Some settings and color depths just don't go with analog.

Yeah, but I wonder what made it stop working in digital in the first place. I only switched to analog after digital didn't work.
