I hope someone out there might be able to help. I purchased my A70 a couple months ago. I am having a problem where most pictures seem to have a serious image noise problem that no matter what I do I can't seem to get rid of. I am at the max resolution and quality settings. I have tried different modes and adjustments and also different light situations. The only time I seem to get away from the problem is if I shoot something close up w/macro. This is actually my second A70. I had taken the first one back after seeing this problem. This new one does the same thing. Do I just have bad luck and got two cameras with the same problem? I also notice today a faded green stripe on the top of some of the pictures when I transferred them to my computer. Whats that all about?? Its a shame because I do like the options and flexability of this camera. My old digital was a Kodak DC 3400. It was only a 2 megapixel but it seemed to take a much better shot then this one does. Can anybody help?

I can't comment on the green stripe you mentioned but the noise may be due to the iso setting you are using. The higher the iso the grainier the photo will become. However, the higher iso will allow for shooting in lower light with a faster shutter speed. Maybe a sample photo?

I am going to email you a sample photo. This is one of the really bad ones. It was shot indoors at night with regular lighting. I believe it was on auto mode at the time. This also shows the green stripe at top.

I too have the same problem with my A70, I am so disapointed with the results that i am going to sell it, and go back to film photography
