Do G3s die like G1s?

Given the number of G1s that have died due to a fuse blowing, with subsequent very expensive repairs, I'm considering buying a G3 and selling my old G1 before it packs up.

So my question is: does the G3 suffer from the same fuse problem?

This fuse problem is news to me but I never owned a G1. I have yet to hear of anyone "blowing a fuse" on their G3.

I hope not but perhaps it has not been around long enough to find out. G1s seemed to blow the fuse after about 2 years.
