I've been trying to learn ImageReady and Dreamweaver. I am doing a newsletter that will go out using an email publication tool that will allow me to track clicks and users.

I have to create the newsletter in html outside the email tool because it is so limited.

I've learned to create slices, export them to a table.

When I import the HTML to Dreamweaver and have the slices link up with the code I get these little white spaces between some of the slices? Any idea how to get rid of these?

Here is a screen shot from inside Dreamweaver. I can see the dashed line where the white lines in web preview come from. I just don't know how to get rid of them.

It looks like it is do to the table structure to me, since the table has color within the cells the space between cells is where the area of no color is going to show up. If I am reading this correctly.

I agree for some reason there is a tiny space between the slices. Just any FYI I will no longer use this technique as I learned how to create "hotspots" with DreamWeaver. It is much easier and works much better.

Any particular reason for using for using tables. Layers are much easier to work with. I know older versions of some browsers have trouble wth tables but most would be past EI5.

I'm not sure how my email marketing software will react to layers.

The other issue I have is how do you define a page size when not using a table. For example I have a background image that is 600x1200 so how do I put that on the page as a background image and the put layers and such on top of it?

I guess I would not need to have such a large background image if I did layers? Here is my current background image I'm working on for my next newsletter.

What I like about the idea of layers is I can move my graphics around depending on the space I need for articles. Under stand the example below is a work in progress.

Obviously this is several images in photoshop. What would be the best way to get this into dreamweaver?

Also if I do it all in layers how to I insert another image a have text wrap around it?

Sorry, but how do you create hotspots on a background image? I do not see that option in the properties box either?

LOL, I think I figured it out. If I want to put additional info in the layer other than just the image, say text for example then I don't want to use the "background image" but just insert it as an image and then I can enter text. I like the use of layers...I'm hoping they work OK with my marketing tool.
