Sorry, EE-users,
A (hopefully) last question from me, but for me a very important question. Please be patience with me, but I guess, after some feedback about these questions I am ready that I know, what I must know about EE.
I did not install EE now, because I am sure, I cannot do this alone, I must ask someone here, therefore I want first to be sure, that EE is the best for me.
I looked now a lot of your EE-galleries, but I am still not sure, what can I do with EE.
Let us say, I look at a typically image-researcher, a journalist, who is looking for an image for his article (my target-people).
1) He comes on my site
2) He sees a link like "Image-Galleries"
3) He goes there and sees maybe some galleries
4) But he has not the time to look what galleries there are or what is hide into such galleries
5) Therefore he looks quickly after a search-box
5Q: QUESTION: is this possible, that he sees a search-box without that he must explicit open this with "Exhibition browser" and "show sorting and search" ?
6) Then he want hit some keywords like "Man lake dog" what means like in Google: Man and lake and dog. But of course he wants that the system searches ALL images, because he does not know the gallerie-system
6Qa: QUESTION: Is this possible, that he can simply put in this keywords, and EE searches in ALL categories/galleries
6Qb: QUESTION: The keywords, what I am talking about, are generated from the iptc-keywords, I understood Pekka, that this is possible, I hope, I understood him right, I can "say" EE at one point that it must take the iptc-keyword into the system for searching
7) Our Journalist did found an image. Now he want the image downloaded, on his desktop.
8 ) For that he must register once to get a password
8Q QUESTION: Can this be done with EE or "only" with an extra system?
9) With his password, he can download the high-res-image for printing in high resolution.
9Q: QUESTION: I understand, this can be done with EE, because the image link can be somewhere. Is this right?
10) His has downloaded the image.
10Q: QUESTION: Therefore must I, as the admin, be aware of this. Can such a log-file or a mail-per-download-system be created with EE or is here another, additional system required?
Hmmmmm, I guess, this is all. I like the EE-design, the forum, the quick support, but be still not sure about this.
If you like, you can go to this link http://www.sinusbild.ch/ it it my current system for this, what I have described.
But I want change for different reasons.
But this system does in fact what I want (simply enter a keyword and go ahead), but one point against: it is very expensive and also not very flexible. Sorry folks, but this link is only in German.
Really thanks for all comments.

All above is to my view is best to be offered with a direct link to http://www.yoursite.com/gallery/exhibition=all and you set all form fields visible in misc settings so that they are all open on arrival.
6Qb: QUESTION: The keywords, what I am talking about, are generated from the iptc-keywords, I understood Pekka, that this is possible, I hope, I understood him right, I can "say" EE at one point that it must take the iptc-keyword into the system for searching
As I said full IPTC search can and most likely will be coded in, maybe for version 1.55 or so.
7) Our Journalist did found an image. Now he want the image downloaded, on his desktop.
8 ) For that he must register once to get a password
8Q QUESTION: Can this be done with EE or "only" with an extra system?
Extra, or by EE commerce template (just create a form which handles logging in and upload). I will work for "add to favourites" and batch retrieval code after 1.5 is out.
9) With his password, he can download the high-res-image for printing in high resolution.
9Q: QUESTION: I understand, this can be done with EE, because the image link can be somewhere. Is this right?
Yes, EE can have paths which are only used for EE commerce templates. But for such upload system I'd create a safer system like ftp view (set it on in fetchsettings.php) which downloads the photo on request from size path to temp directory for viewing, never revealing the original location (and filename if needed) or the image.
10) His has downloaded the image.
10Q: QUESTION: Therefore must I, as the admin, be aware of this. Can such a log-file or a mail-per-download-system be created with EE or is here another, additional system required?
As with any customized EE commerce template this is possible (just write code for login and actions to be written into proprietary MySQL tables), but you will need someone to code it for you. I have plenty of similar log code in EE, in comments, in perfomance, and in counters.

Looks Spartan, but works. If one changes EE category menu to text list one could get similar interface done easily....
Really thanks for all comments.

I thank you for your interest to EE and I will try to cater for every possible use there is for it. But as you may understand I do it alone so resources are limited. I can offer advice and help as much as I can but currently writing some special applications/templates on request is simply not possible, time is too limited. But also, If I see that some feature is really needed then I'll code it faster (like I'm now very interested in getting something like a "lightbox" capability in EE).

Hi Pekka,
THANKS a lot for your answers. This seems to be great and I am afraid ;) I must dive into EE.
It seems to be the best what I have seen yet.
Yes, I know the "problem" from IMatch, when a man does create a piece of software on his own. But on the other hand, he will not make a mess and he cares realy for his work, therefore such softwares are usually great, like yours.
About my "spartanic page": you are right. Therefore I will try to change to you ;)
About the lightbox: Ah, yes, this is of course in a usual, professional workflow to search, find and order/download images also important, and therefor I like this, when you will do this (thanks, Tom).
Go ahead with your great work ... and do not forget to enjoy the music, what you seems to be envolved ;)
