Micheal Franti & Spearhead (large&many Images)

i was fortunet enough to shoot Micheal Franti and Spearhead this year at the Ottawa Bluesfest. The festival has four stages and the main holds space for about 20,000 to 25,000 people. Micheal closed the night on Saturday last. I had never seen him before but I have to tell you if you dont know who he is you will soon. they are from San Francisco. Check them out.

I see them fine!!! Great shots. #1 is my favorite as it seems to capture some real emotion in his face. Are these guys Blues or Reggae? Have never heard of them.

See 'em now. I like #1 and 2, although I would've 'hidden' the light behind the guys head.
#5 is nice as well, but could be cropped closer... The rest is okay, but not too exciting IMHO.

i would have liked to have hidden the light a little more... but I almost got run over the video camera guy ... dollying across the front..

Nice job overall, the could use a smidge of Noise Ninja, especially for the reds. I like # 3 (minus the mic and the sensor dust). Which brings me to my next question what were you stopped down to, to show sensor dust that strongly?

nice shots, these guys are my fav band. They are classified as rock-hip hop. They really are fantastic, their are pretty left wing, but have a few songs that dont have political undertones. For those looking to check them out, last time I checked Amazon had a few songs on their website for free download from their latest album, the ones on their site are only for the truest of fans.
