Flash For Digital Rebel

Well as fate would have it I just got my Digital Rebel and now my 540EZ Flash is giving me fits. For some reason it doesn't seem to want to fire in auto mode from the hotshoe or off camera shoe cord. Is there a compatibility problem that I am not aware of with the EZ line of flashes? My 380EX works fine in either configuration.

The EZ flash units will not work with the Digital Rebel. You need an EX series flash. I bought a 420ex which works fine but you should get a 550ex, being that the camera doesn't have flash compensation you need a flash that will compensate and the 420 doesn't do it either...Dean
