Since the Adobe purchase does anyone know how to get a copy of RawShooter.

I understand Adobe is going to use this tech in Lightroom. Anyone know when the Windows beta version is due out, and price range of final product?

Knowing Adobe, the price will probably be exhorbitant. I'm still ticked about them buying Raw Shooter to eliminate the competition.

I doubt that there is anywhere you can get a copy and I'm not sure why you would want one at this point in time.

I totally agree with Liza, the price will be high but at the same time I'm thinking it is going to have alot more options to help with workflow issues. I've been on both ends of companies buying others to get them out of the way. You're right it does suck but that is business.

RawShooter Essentials is still available for free download from the Pixmantec web site, here (http://www.pixmantec.com/products/rawshooter_essentials.asp).

However RawShooter Premium has been discontinued.

There was a release the other day saying if you bought RSP, by the day before you would get a FREE copy of Lightroom when released. Guess the story of my life a DAY LATE.

By moving on do any of you use ACR to do RAW work before using Photoshop or Elements? If so do you find any difference in the image quality using ACR vs. a stand alone RAW editor??

My preference was always C1 Pro. I bought RSP because it was affordable and wanted to see if it was really as good as everyone was saying. IMO, it wasn't, even after buying CE.

I have tried ACR, Bibble and I just keep coming back to C1. I like its interface and I can work very quickly in it. I'm accustomed to doing all my RAW conversions outside of the Adobe products. It does not make any difference in the image quality, what matters is how good you are at doing the raw conversions to get a decent file to work with once you are in photoshop.

I use ACR to do all of my RAW processing and, yes, there is a difference between using it and RSE or Capture One but it's not due to whether it's built-in or standalone. Each RAW converter interprets the data in different ways and there are many folks here that use more than one to get the effect they want.
