What is the macro on this lens is it 1:2? 1:3.9? I need help if you have pics with this lens or anything please reply! Also i bought it through KEH. Does anyone know how long it usually takes them to ship an item? Thanks

How much difference will there be between the ld and non ld?

I don't know about anyone else but personally I find the inability to spell really takes the sting out of insults.

It's not a very good lens, I have the LD version which is a little better.

Probably worht $60 though!

You have bought an old model so few people would know much about it let alone have pictures comparing it to the newer models.
Here are some images taken with your model ,not the newer version linked above-

You may actually have an LD model after all -the tamron japan site seems to say so - http://www.tamron.co.jp/data/depth/index.htm
That said it really makes no difference as 'LD' is simply a marketing term anyway .
Your model was last made in 1996 -

At a guess i'd say the lens will definitely get you some great pictures. Most consumer x-300 zooms work very well at the shorter end at least.
Interestingly the latest tamron x-300 lenses are among the sharpest at the long end but don't hold any hopes that this applies to the older model.
I'm curious myself how it performs

Shipping time depends on where you are and the method chosen -KEH would have stated the time on your order page

I searched abit but couldn't find any solid info on the macro ratio of the 172d

Thanks for all the help considering how uncommon this lens seems to be I havent seeen any photos that show how good it really may or may not be so I will just have to wait till the 24th. Hopefully the LD is just a marketing gimic.
