I have had the 10d for about 5 months now and am on my third one...actually I just had to send in my third one ...all for the "error 99". Canon has no comment on the problem, only says send it in and we will have a look at it. The first 2 cameras started in on the problem into the first week and the current camera has only recently started. I ONLY use Canon Lenses and they are all new. I have tried every "fix" mentioned on the forum and the problem only got worse...to the point where I was only getting 2-4 shots before the error. Anyway just venting I suppose...BTW I also have the 1ds and love it (obviously)!!!! I purchased 2 10ds initially and my other 10d has never had a problem...wierd.
