Professional Camera Insurance...In NYC

Anyone know of any professional camera insurance that I could get? I live in NYC.

Insurance for working pros, not insurance from your home or apartment insurance...

Not NYC specifically. I would suggest however, that a call to the pro rental department of one of the local stores (B&H?) might provide a couple of good leads since they would after all be named as additional insured on a lot of policies. Good luck!

Several years ago I was a member of PPofA (Professional Photographers of America) and they offered an excellent replacement cost insurance program. I don't remember the company name though. Are you a member of any professional organizations such as PPofA or WPI or ASMP? Otherwise, google "professional camera insurance" and see what you come up with. If you find something you feel is worthy, share it with us. I'm sure there are lots of photogs who would like to look into camera insurance.

The insurance I have with State Farm is Professional equipment insurance.

It covers my equipment no matter how I lose it (or so I have been told and read) short of war (need a separate coverage for that).

I get a slight discount, because I have house and car with them as well.

So far I have not had to use that policy and I hope not to have to ever.
