Hi
I need a good viseo card but I don't need high performance 3dfx for games, I don't play them very often.
I use PS soI guess it would need lots of video ram but what else should I look for?
Regards
Alan

Lots of video ram is mostly for storing textures in games. You don't need much at all (by today's standards) for a high res 2D scene.

Alan,
The single best cards for working in photoshop are being made Matrox.
Since the original "MAtrox Millenium" 2 megabyte PCI card,. no other consumer based product has equalled MAtrox's 2dimensional visual quality, color or rendering speed.
I have a $300.00 Nvidia card with 128MB of RAM that DOES NOT look as good on my Sony AG monitor as one of my old 8MB PCI Matrox cards.
There current top of the line is the Parhelia series,. but anything form a G200 - G550 will be your best looking Photoshop card. I have been finding old stock g400 AGP cards for around $45.00 and under. These cards will NOT be good at games (the newer Matrox cards will be fine) but they blow the doors off of nVidia and ATI at 2D photoshop type applications.

Not to sure of how much you want to spend, or what type of system you're building or putting the card in but I would look @ the Matrox line that a great deal of Graphic artist use or even look @ WWW.cnet.com, WWW.PCMAG.com or PC worlds website. All of these sites have a great deal of info and since COMDEX is getting ready for the big show I'm sure new models will be realeased and some good deals on older model cards.
Myself I always go for Nivdia products, they're reliable and keep there drivers up to date.
