This is my first post here. Just picked up a G3 this past week. What a camera!

Out of curiosity, why won't Canon permit the Date/Time to be inserted in the picture ?

thx.

You have the date/time in every file properties. If you want you can insert it in the photo with most of the image editors (and create some effects too - so that not all the photos have the date/time inserted in the same boring way/colour/dimension/place).

Thanks, Daos. I figured there must be some reason the option is available.

I sent a message to Canon and they reply:

How can I get the date and/or time to appear on my pictures?

The camera does not imprint the date or time directly on the pictures. However, you are able to print the date and time on the photograph using Zoombrowser EX and PhotoRecord. To set PhotoRecord to print date and time, follow this procedure:

Click the 'Print' button under 'Tasks' on the left of the screen.
Select the type of print you want: Layout or Index.
Select the image(s) you wish to print.
Click 'Select Captions for Printing.' Select the captions (i.e. date and time).
Click 'Open Layout Print...' or 'Open Index Print...', depending on the print mode you selected.
PhotoRecord will now open and give you a preview of the image(s) you wish to print.
