...found alongside the platform at Swanage railway station in Dorset - Hope these are considered 'urban' enough to be here :-)

Not sure if they 'work' but I just took a few shots of them whilst I was looking around.
PP on both pics consisted of a slight levels adjustment, a small bit of cropping, resized, and finally a little sharpening.

both taken with the Canon 24-105L @105mm, ISO200, 1/250th, f/6.7 [No.1] & f/8 [No.2].

Now where is that pack of cigarettes..? :-)

Nice, I like the yellows that have melded (is that even a word?) into the red or the writing and the red rust.

Sando - Just looked up the word 'melded' and all I can find is a reference to 'meld' -

"In Star Trek parlance, meld is short for the 'Vulcan mind meld'..."

Mind you, this was found on the Wikipedia web site... ;)

Maybe Mr Spock had something to do with them... ???

Nice shots, I prefer #1. I like the contrast of colours, the yellow is very vibrant!

Thanks for the comments...

NZFritz - Yes, I know waht you mean, It's quite 'face-on' enough to work, although I have already cropped them from the originals, not sure how many pixels are left :-)

adam* - It was the colours that attracted me to them in the first place, the first one was a brighter yellow and I prefer that one myself.

This is not my normal shooting subject, so I was really just experimenting with these two, but I find myself looking at more 'urban' & 'abstract' things now...

Yup ... we are surrounded by interesting 'urban' stuff most folks never even notice. Keep those eyes open Uncle Kev ;-) It's like going on urban safari for me.

Missed this earlier Kevin. I love old (and sometimes also new) signs. Just wondering how they have not been removed (or stolen)?

Better late than never eh Olli :-)

Mmmm, not realy thought about that one, maybe they have bolted and glued them to the wall or something!
They are on a preserved, but fully working line, and are the other side of the tracks from the platform but are still relatively easy to get at - maybe they've been lucky?
