Another insect close up shot. This fellow’s body length easily exceeds 10cm. He was found clinging to a window screen and placed in a Redbud tree to photograph. I am fascinated by the mimicry, especially the thorns on the 2nd and 3rd pair of legs seen in the second picture. Apparently these insects commonly eat rose plants. It makes sense that the insect’s branches would also have thorns.

What a strange creature. Judging by the length of those antennae, its eyesight must be poor. Nice idea to move it to a better location. I prefer shot # 2 as it's the most bizarre.

Very nice shots, good DOF and very sharp. You've also bought out the colors very nicely, impressive.

Another great captures! It seems like you don't need macro lens for "macro" in Oklahoma ;) Keep them coming :)
