View Full Version : Sunset on a Lake in Central Nebraska

Nebraska is suffering from a drought like many other midwestern states, but we still had plenty of water on this lake the first of July. This lake is used for irrigation and will soon have less water unless we have needed rain. My wife and I spend as much time here as we can in the summer. Caught this sunset with my Sigma 70-300.

This is a great shot. My only cc is that I would clone out the boat from the bottom right corner as it adds nothing to the picture. I wouldn't want to loose any of that sky by cropping it.
My quick try below for reference. I also cloned the small white light on the other side.

That is gorgeous. I love the colors, they are so rich. I've been wanting to get up to our local lake and get some sunset pictures, but too sick to try. The one time I was able to get up there, the clouds ate the sun ;).

Wow, what a beautiful sunset! I also have been wanting to get some nice shots of a sunset but just have not hit it right at the lake so far this summer.

We shared a similar sunset here in Colorado two days ago but I was not able to get anything as good as that... I can see the mountains from my apartment but lots of foreground and it just would not have been as good.

Great color and detail for sure!

Thank you to all of the nice comments. I didn't notice the how vibrant the orange was until I downloaded it and looked at it on screen.

I'd remove the antenna towers as well, as they really distract my eyes from such a FANTASTIC shot. This is definitely worth printing.
