You are encouraged to check the following site to visually compare various models side-by-side. In my opinion, it is worth more than a million words and answers the perennial curiosity of how various cameras compare to each other.

I agree Dante, it sure doesn't present anything in a way that would help anyone decide about one camera over another. Looks like someone had an interesting idea, but the execution was a bit lacking.

The reason it is very useful is many people don't have the access to compare various models in person and we resort to what others feel. However, that site gives us the visual arena to decide for ourselves which camera suits requirements or how it performs relatively.

If you think that the images that appear on the site give you good representative samples of what the various cameras can do then go for it and use the site :) To me the images are poorly presented rendering the comparisons pretty useless. Just my opinion though ymmv.

I randomly chose two cameras, the 5D and the 1DMkII, and picked the shot of the house to compare.

The shots are of different resolution/crop, exposure, and copyright year but as far as I can tell, the actual subject is IDENTICAL. Same lighting, shadows and plants are in the same place in both samples.

How could someone get that lucky taking the same shot 4 years apart?

It's Image Resources, they are a legitimate and established review site. Go to their front page and look up a review.
The link above is helpful if you want to compare images and stats between models. They try to make most of the tests consistant, it's by design the subjects and methodology are the same. Too bad at 100% crop, those side by side panels are too small for my 19" monitor. I rather look up each individual camera in a seperate window for each monitor.
I think they do just as well as dpreview when it comes down to getting the facts. I just like Askey's, methods better.
Good find if you need a quick and dirty.

Chaos, I agree. I've seen that site before, and always, the plants, lighting is the same in the photos! Is he taking a picture of a poster or something?

I've been reading IR website when I was using PS cameras. They have nice reviews
for PS.

The House picture, and the childs with musical instruments, are Photos printed on a wall. It's always the same picture.
