The leaf on the left is reflecting..do you think this is distracting?

Once you mention it.. I guess that iyt makes me say yes!
I did however (going from memory now) love you 6 bird shots done with the 8X add on lens as I recall. I do not recall any "flaws" in those shots although DOF was very narrow. I like the sepia a lot -- and the color more. All fit for any Audubon Society collection.

Howie,
thanks a lot for your reaction and I'm glad you liked the bird-shots. Do you actually think the color ones are better than the same shots in sepia? Or did you mean the color ones with sun towards the birds? I think the colors of the parkinglot behind them were too clear and I like the light from behind in sepia.
For this photo I heard this comment from my father in law who has been into photography for quite a while and still uses analog equipment. He thought this picture was one of the best I've taken, but the light is distracting.
I geuss the pose of this bird is the thing I like most of it..
Maybe I'll do some PS with this.
Thanks for your comment on this one!
Bob.

First of all - this pic should be left in full color. The leaf is not distracting to me.

And why is that arccos..why should it be left in full color?
Maybe I'll post one in of this in color soon..see what you like better.

Sure I don't know how the original colorfull picture looks like. But I assume that leaves are green or yellow-green and the bird is brown or grey. In this case I think that the image would be more clear and the bird more visible (contrasting against the leafy background). Also I don't see any point to put some nonsentimental picture into sepia mode.
Maybe I'll change my opinion when I see the original picture.

Thanks for your respond Arccos...don't know if I can agree with you that only sentimental pictures are good in sepia. Though to explain my choise of sepia: my lense gives chromatic aboration and the bright green leaves distract too much. The picture is not about the bird but about the leaves..doesn't work for me. Maybe it's my crystalvue LX..but I prefer the sepia tone in this one. See if I can find it and upload it to the web..
Greetings,
Bob.
