Well i hope this is the right place for these, i call them "experimental"...
I live in okinawa, and these people shoot off alot of fireworks. I quit shooting them normally and started playing around with setting up waaay close, weird exposures, and on-purpose camera shakes, and pans during long exposures. here is an original, and a color adjusted/cropped copy. i am going to use it for a backdrop "frame" to drop candid pics onto to make them "pop" for the family... I am pretty proud of this one, i like it alot. C+C are welcomed... orange one is of course a resized original, blue is the PS one.

It is interesting. I am curious about how this was done? I can't figure it out by looking at it.

So those were just fireworks orginally? Way cool.

Yah. here is a pic of the "type" of fireworks i was working with, it is another experiment, but not so drastic, so you can kinda see how i got the effect.
hope it helps. i was basically parked right below the fireworks, there was security telling me i could not go another inch closer, i was shooting almost straight up with the nifty 50, and 2-6 second exposure times, on a tripod, manual focus and remote switch

The blue version in the first series is great, I would never gess it comes from fireworks, looks electric.
