Thats a really cool picture. my only comment would be that it would've been nicer to have the whole cat in focus (greater DOF). but as for everything else...brilliant.

Yes, i have noticed that. It was dark in the room and I could only use f/1.4 thus the shallow DOF. If it was brighter, it would've been better. Thank you for your comment.

I like the shot but echo everyone else on the DOF thing. I think that with a solid background like this... you almost have to get the whole subject in sharp focus for the shot to work. The cat is gorgeous.. one of my favorite breeds is the bengal. You composed this nicely and the lighting is spot on.

I usually don't comment on the pet pictures but the colours really work in this. I don't know about the DOF... I am brought in to the happy expression on the cats face so it works for me.

yup, its just a way of bending the rules a bit, nice shot, works for me.

Thank you for all of the comments. I will improve on the DOF. I was using the 50mm at f/1.4 due to the darkness in the room. I will try again with a tripod next time. Thank you all.
