In between me riding around and not trying to fall off, I'd like to have a go at some riding pics with my 350d

The problem is, the only lenses I have are the one that came with it (18-55) or one from my old 300v which is a 28-105usm

What would you say is the furthest away I could get some reasonable pics from?

I will no doubt be trying every setting under the sun, so any last minute tips would be great!:)
