Does the Beta for Windows display the camera used? Seems I saw that information on the tutorial but I cannot find it on my beta version. Or did I hear that camera info in not available as yet.

Yes it displays the camera used along with basic metadata (in the windows version).

To find it you need to be in "Libary" mode.

On the right hand panel find "Quick Develop" and then scroll down to Metadata. It should be in there.

It works for me with images from my old 300d and 20d.

Oh yes, there it is. Thank you very much. My first impression of this software is that I like it very much. It has a lot of similarities to ACR that I have used extensively in CS. Kind of looks like LR could be the converter and editor and CS might not be necessary for most RAW conversions.

I like it too even though it is far from the finished product. I miss the ability to zoom in at increments like 25% 50% etc like you can in CS2. In LR it's fit or 1:1 unless I missed something.

I also miss USM and Smart Sharpen. Does anyone think that these may be added to the final release?

I can't ever imagine relying on the Sharpen feature that is on the Beta release. If Adobe intend to make LR a truly standalone piece of software for photographers then the sharpening needs to be addressed.

I read some replies on the LR Beta web sites (http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/webforums/forum/index.cfm)from one of the development team members that there are no plans to add USM, as it is outdated technology. The capture sharpening and output sharpening use the same or similar technology as SS. Sorry I can't be more specific than that, but those forums are painfully slow this morning and I can't find the posts I looked at right now.
