This is the same swan as in the share forum, and it is the same loch (and evening) as my 'Loch at Sunset' photos.

I would like to hear your impressions of this photo. Do you think it could be improved in any way?

Regards
Martin.

This is a very good shot, as far as improvement goes it would be tough to say, maybe a little tighter crop so as not to have as much water, You'd have to be careful not to lose to much of the gold highlights of the water, and I think you'd want to maintain the swan in the upper right corner, other than that great shot.

Gorgeous shot.

I always tend to crop, but that may be a function of ultimate print size. All that to say, if this was my screen saver at 14in x 11in, I would probably leave well enough alone. If it was a photo card, I would try a crop to bring out the swan out a bit. My approach to cropping might be to place the line of motion on the diagonal. Of course it has to look better, and for that I'd ask a 3rd party! Beautiful shot. I saw swans along many walking trails in Britain.

Martin, when you are some of ther other UK members are in Kent -- image me a Yoast please! Better still, you guys in the UK organize a photo weekend somewhere for us mainlanders!

Of the two pictures, I think this image is the stronger. The reflected colours are brilliant. The size of the swan in relation to the frame suits the photo well.

As for cropping, I don't think the shot begs for it, but perhaps a shave off the top might improve it a sliver.

Very nice.

This is an excelent photo and I wouldn't change anything on it. Also I think that it was good idea to add the 'golden' frame around the pic .

I agree with arccos don't change a thing. Well above average photo on this forum. Also frame is nice complement to photo. I have been looking at examples of various frames used on the forum to see what for me works and what does not. This works.

A really great pic Martin! Cropping a little to bring the swan a little closer into view might be a good idea, but all in all I think it is excellent the way it is already!

It's brilliant - I love it.
The swan sits so well on the third, and the reflected clouds are terrific.
Which loch is it?
