;) Cuzzin here hammering through the contents of his CF card.

Here's a couple from the beautiful Isle of Skye.

Photo 1: The Cuillin Hills from a wee midgie infested burn up the hill from Sligachan on the road to Portree.

Photo 2: Classic view of the coloured houses on the pier front of the Islands capital Portree.

A bit of saturation, Cokin P121 ND Grad, and some dodging of highlights in the foreground.

Cheers,

Migdie bitten Cousin. :(

Originals are here (http://www.scotlandone.com/galleries/)

second one for me, those houses contrast very well with the moody/broody sky, I might consider cropping a touch from the bottom, the bottom left chimneys intrude a touch?
Still, good work.

Thanks, a wee bit of fiddling here and there with the light of the burn. I couldn't get the shutter speed to go any lower than 0.6 seconds due to the light. I wanted the foamy slow shutter effect.

Love the first one! Great shot!

Thanks Geoff. I see you are from NI, we are so in need of some Irish stuff on our green site. If you have a moment we'd love to have some of your shots.

Thanks Graham,

In my travels I went through Renfrew, lovely tower on the main street. My Mum dragged me into that Braehead Mall. I got a bunch of bus shots for my transport section from the parking lot for my troubles. I hate Malls.

Love them mate :D

Hey Cousin, if I had known I would have left you something at the Sligachan Hotel, we stayed for two nights at the Lodge on the hillside. I know you are probably going camping. Make sure you take your Midgie repellent... there are clouds of them pal. Looks like a few of our pals in here are all going at different times. Darn. You can check out more from my trip home in the galleries, what I have processed so far that is. www.scotlandone.com/galleries (http://www.scotlandone.com/galleries)/

Thankyou, never been to Italy, but I hear they play half decent football over there.

Hi Dimitri,

We covered 1100 miles in 3 weeks on the car rental, 700 of which was part of the Skye trip. Great time, we just followed the road from Sligachan to Portree then went in a clockwise direction around the peninsula. You need several days to get a good grip on the scenery. Get up early and go to bed late it's the only way to cover the Island to do it justice.

Knowing your great eye, you will come back with some stunners. The place is just oozing with photo opportunities... it's a veritable Aladdins Cave for folk like us. 2 days simply wasn't enough, but I did what I could and came back with a few keepers.

Look forward to seeing you and Buggbairns stuff.

What a beautiful place and lovely shots :)

Thanks Steve,

The place is rife with photo opportunities, every where you turn around you are itching to run over to get a better angle. You need more than a day up there let me tell you. A week would never bore you, but a couple of days should bag you some stunners. Advice - get up early and stay out late. THe light is at it's best at the two extremes of the day.

Cheers.

Thanks Robert, there's more on my site if you'd like to take a peek here (http://www.scotlandone.com/galleries/)

Thanks Les, always appreciate your thoughts. I have already chopped a piece off the bottom left. If I go any higher I will be left with a chunk of the bush in the middle... sigh.. it's easy to chop and clone... it's not easy to do nothing hahaha.

I`m suppose to be there for 3 days.

So from what you`re saying...i beeter concentrate on one part of the island (and get a good picture of it) and live the rest for another time?
That would be the best?

Hi Cuz

Renfrew is 5 mins from my house, the town hall has a great tower on it, just renovated last year. Braehead aaaarrrggghhhhhh my god i hate that place, full of posers, you should have went into the "Clydebuilt museum" its good.

Graham

Dimitri,

I covered 600 miles in 3 days on my trip, in my opinion the southern end and round the cuillins is the best area to concentrate.

Thanks Steve,

Perhaps you could help out my ailing Irish galleries mate? With a 5D I am sure you have some crackers you could upload and help get it off the ground.

I have four sites for photographers, the shots you have been seeing on here are from the Scotland one. Any kindlers for the Irish fire would be appreciated.

Hi Dimitri,

Here's a quick collage to help you out. The north is much flatter but provides wide vistas with rolling hills and if it's clear you'll get views like the top photo.

South is where the Cuillin Hills are. In my opinion regardless of the weather, an expert like you Dimitri will come away with some beauties.

As they say - a picture speaks a thousands words... hehe.
