G5 and Metz 40MZ2

Help!
I bought a Powershot G5 and have an "old" Metz Flash 40MZ2.
Is there a possibility to connect this to the G5 with SCA3000 adaptor? The simple middle-contact is working, but i like it more comfortable.

I suppose there are problems like with the G3?

Search this archive, but I think there is an incompatibility between older flash heads used on the G3. Something to do with over voltage that can ruin your G3. Be careful.
