Not that good a shot but the best I have managed so far of this bird in flight.

350D + 70-200 f4 + 1.4tc

hey, one of the first steps to good birding is getting the bird in the frame, and you have done a great job of that, good possitioning too, especially for such a small bird.

You will not get a shot of this guy with XT while its flying. This is as good as it will get. Thats whyt this is OOF soft and has no details. I am only able to get shots of these guys in flight with mkII anything else just wont do it.

it is very close to been a top notch shot they are very hard to get in flight but if you take enough shots im sure you will nail one .

You have done very well Roy with this shot, it's one of the fast birds to get a good capture of in-flight, well done.

I would have been happy to have taken that shot. Very difficult to capture at the best of times. I managed to get a shot of a Sand Martin but more by luck than judgment.

Thanks for the comment guys. Odd thing is that I have taken over 300 shots of this bird with the altimate birds-in-flight lens (400mm f5.6) with no luck at all - this one was taken with my 70-200mm f4 while shooting Butterflies.
