Just the conversion I did probably.......I was going for a dark, grainy look!?!

You got it! I was going to comment on the grain. It doesn't detract from the image but is not what I'm used to seeing in landscapes. Very nice composition and conversion.

I wasn't too fond of the color shot.........I guess the B&W isn't any better.:confused:

No, the grain I like.
The tree appears to be glowing, though, as if it were pasted in there - that's what I meant,

I used a red filter in PSP and that gives it the bold look...

I had a go at it too. Instead of using the channel mixer..use grayscale than adjust curves to avoid the grain. Hope you like!

Looks dead. I wonder if lightening struck it since it is all alone in the middle of the field?
