ultra and non-ultra CF cards

what's the difference between the sandisk ultra and non-ultra 512MB cards?


Is it worth paying extra for the ultra? I'll be getting a portable hard drive, if that makes any difference (i'm thinking 2 512 MB cards should do nicely...256MB might be a little too small, even with a portable drive...although, i might get 2x256 and a 512 MB later when i have a bit more money.....)

Also, just so you know the camera i'll be using will be the digital rebel

If I remember correctly the basic stats are complied by testing speed with Jpeg, but whatever, there's loads to read.....

Whether its worth paying more for the Ulta depends a lot on just how quickly you need to write or read from the cards.
