First one is nice, don't really like the second one though.

Interesting compositions. It's really hard to judge such tiny images.

It's been a year since you took those. Surely you have taken more pictures since then. You are holding back on us...

Another vote for the first one - IMO the processing in number 2 does nothing for the shot.

WELCOME to the forums choko! :-)

I just upgraded to To Rebel XT. it's going be awhile (possibly a long while) before my pictures will be acceptable to let anyone take a look at.

That was my thinking when I first joined, but I soon found out the sooner you post pics and get comments from others the quicker you improve.
The People on the forums here are friendly and always willing to help and you learn what you're doing wrong (or right) a lot easier than trying to do it all by yourself.

So welcome to the forums and start posting :) :) :) .

All wrong. Tell you what. I can make this photo fantastic for you. I'll even do it for free. Just chip in for my airfare and we'll go back to where you took this photo and we'll get it right this time. ;)

I like the first version.

Thanks for the encouragement.
Okay, I just got a new lens (nifty 50) to go with my new XT. I couldn't wait to see how it works so I took a shot or two and celebrated with a glass or five of wine.
I don't know how to post full scale yet and you can tell I like B&W.

Heh.

I really like how the topline of the liquid in the glass and the liquid in the bottle are on level while the bottles are tilted. A metaphor...

But the paper towels in the background have to go.

Nice picture.

Welcome to the forum Choko, and congratulations on your new lens too! :) I can tell already that you are going to fit in just great. Love the wine shot - refraction in the wine glass. Do agree with Julie about the paper towerls tho. ;)

Welcome, neighbor! Congrats on the XT. Great camera and hopefully, you will use it a lot. I liked the first one, although the sun is a little bright, but the second one doesn't do much for me. Keep posting and enjoy the forum. I've learned so much and I've spent more than I can tell you. :)

don't sell yourself short, and share what you have, there's people on here who can help you become really good at this art. However i doubt i'm one as i only got my rebel in the post today, still waiting for my lens.:D

There is certainly nothing wrong with that second image. May come in handy if you open a restaurant someday.

I couldn't resist....enjoy!

Love what you done with the second picture. Who knows, maybe I could learn how to cook and open a Cafe in Paris.
