How long is a G3 supposed to last?

Hello, everyone.

Does anyone know how long a G3 is supposed to last? i.e.,
what is its shutter mechanism rated for? I figure I'm taking
about 100 photos per week on average, or about 5000
photos per year, taking reasonable but not obssessive care.
So if we can expect 30,000 shots (I'm guessing here) from
the camera, it will be functioning on borrowed time after
the sixth year. Just wondering when I should stop buying
accessories and start saving for the next camera...

That's a good question, and I doubt if Canon wants you to know the answer. After all, they want you to buy NEW cameras all the time, right?

For your second question, I'm always preaching about not buying any accessories (or at least buying ones that you can use with any camera!).
