The "Post a colorful Urban Shot" thread reminded me that I have a load of shots from a recent Tokyo trip that I've been meaning to post. My post in that thread was this shot of Ginza at night (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showpost.php?p=1757382&postcount=101).

Unfortunately I didn't have as much time for photography as I'd have liked, but here are a few more that I liked:

#1 - Mirror clean windows reflect a Tokyo cityscape

#2 - Tsukiji Fish Market
http://www.kurtwindisch.com/albums/tokyo_posts/IMG_7377.jpg

#3 - Imperial Palace (the standard postcard shot ;))

#4 - Queuing up for Pichinko

#5 - Bad Fortunes - Senso-ji
http://www.kurtwindisch.com/albums/tokyo_posts/IMG_7503.jpg

#6 - Akasaka Cognac Bar
http://www.kurtwindisch.com/albums/tokyo_posts/IMG_0385.jpg

#7 - Ginza Road Construction - middle of the night

Sorry but no photos are showing.

edit: thanks for the fix and pics. Imperial palace looks great and I like the fish market guy. Not to say I don't like the others.

They are waaaaay over average shots of a trip to Tokio. Anyone can tell an actual photographer shot these. I love the composition in all of them, and the colors are super vivid. The only thing -and its mostly opinion based- is the #6 image, I didn't do much for me. But still does not make it a half way bad photo at all.

Cheers and great job.

Thanks a lot for the comments!

#6 was definitely not the best one of the bunch, a blury shot with my s400 (the others were the RebelXT). I still thought it was interesting so I included it, but now that I think of it, there were definitely better ones I could have posted in its place.

#7 is maybe a mood shot that stirs up really vivid memories for me. My hotel was near here and I came through all this construction on a taxi ride back late at night. The scene was so surreal with individually lit traffic cones and all sorts of other bright warning devices, Ginza lit up in the distance. I grabbed my camera from my room and ran back out to take some photos. I couldn't get the perfect shot that I wanted but managed to get this and a few others, with a JR train whizzing through the center of the photo. I wish I could have captured it better, but it's still really evocative for me. ;)

Thanks again for the C&C!

All good shots, and funnily enough I like number 6, even a little fuzzy, because it reminds me of how I feel after spending some time in a cocktail bar! Nice work.

What were those people standing in line for? I absolutely love that shot, the man on the bike adds a lot to it.

Its for Pachinko parlor. They have slot machines, and these other machines similar to that of slot, but you use a lot of these steel bearing balls, trying to bounce them into the small whole at the bottom of the machine.
