What kind of camera bag is best for a 20D and a few lenses, and possibly a flash and cable release?

I was looking at a Lowepro 200 slingshot because access to all my gear quickly is important to me. However, it doesn't seem I'd be able to attacha tripod to it like I would a backpack. Is this important, or could I carry a tripod in a separate bag? This would be a little unconvenient shooting in the city, but more convenient than having to deal with a backpack (plus attaching a tripod to the end of a backpack on the NYC subway is asking for trouble)

Access isn't as important in the field for landscape shots, but I can only afford one bag for both, so better to have the accessI would think. But how would I bring the tripod on my bike otherwise?

Is there a sling sort of bag with tripod support that will allow a few lenses?

EDIT: also, does the Lowepro have ajustable straps, because I'm short.

Best Buy as well as Amazon have a Canon bag that has rom for about 1 to 2 cameras with up to 4 lenses. It has two side pockets and straps to attach a tripod on the bottom of the case. It is nice and roome. Right now I carry two Rebel XT with grips and straps attached, a 75-300mm lens, an 18-55mm lens with macro(3) extension tubes attached, another 18-55mm, and a Rocket blower inside. On the outside pockets I carry 2 extra batteries, a cleaning kit, two AA batteries attachents, and a few odds and ends.

THe price is reasonable at $69.00 and it is well padded with a really good shoulder strap. It also has a few D rings from which you can attach additional items if you are up to carrying all that weight. Yet it is still compact enough to take inside an airplane as carry on luggage.

I have that bag and will sell it for $30.00.
I no longer use it.

never mind, i think the slingshot is perfect. I want something that won't advertise itself as a camera bag anyway. The fact that it can't holdmy laptop may bug me a bit, but I'd rather not carry that most places anyway, and keeping ALL of your gear in one place is not a good idea (i'm paranoid, sue me)
